Project C.U.R.E. | Franciscan Mission Warehouse in Kansas City

Project C.U.R.E. was founded in a Colorado garage in 1987 and has since expanded to seven distribution locations across the U.S., including our 50,000 square foot warehouse here in Kansas City. We’ve also grown to become the world’s largest distributor of donated medical supplies, equipment, and services to doctors and nurses in more than 135 countries. This is no easy feat. The only way we can make it happen is through the help and support of those also willing to get involved — from volunteering to donating, you can help us make a difference. There are three ways you can help:

Volunteer With Us

Project C.U.R.E. Kansas City needs passionate, service-minded individuals who are ready to roll up their sleeves and lend a helping hand to help sort and package medical supplies, stock donated medical supplies, prepare for shipments, and load containers. We welcome both individual and group volunteers.

Individual Volunteers

Registering to volunteer is simple. Just visit the Kansas City Volunteer Hub, select a date to see if openings are available, then select “sign up.” It’s that easy. If you’ve never volunteered with us before, no worries, we’ve got an informative video and you’ll tour the warehouse. We won’t leave you hanging, we promise. Project C.U.R.E. requires that our volunteers who are 14-17 years old be accompanied by an adult. For younger volunteers, please email us for information on offsite options for Kits for Kids. We have a variety of skill sets needed:

Medical Volunteers:

We need doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel to be the first line of quality assurance to ensure the integrity of the supplies as well as help sort donations. This is a great educational experience for those aspiring to the medical field. We ask that you commit to serving 3 hours per month.

Sort Team Leaders:

As a Team Leader, you will help lead our large groups in sorting and packaging medical supplies. Medical experience is not required but is helpful. You’ll need to complete a training session, and we ask for a commitment of 1 event at 3 hours per month.

Drivers:

If you don’t mind driving and a little heavy lifting, you can help out by picking up supplies from local hospitals or clinics and delivering them to our warehouse driving our 16-foot box truck, our 12-passenger van, or your own vehicle. A CDL is not required. We do ask that drivers commit to serving 3 hours per month.

Biomedical/Surgical/Laboratory Experts:

If you have specialized medical training, we could use your help to ensure equipment is fit for donation, which may involve checking and repairing equipment, sorting supplies, or packaging donations for shipment. We ask for a commitment of at least 3 hours per month.

Warehouse Volunteers:

We need volunteers able to do some physical labor to help keep our warehouse organized, drive forklifts, prepare for shipments, unload donations, and load containers for shipment. We ask that you commit to helping at least 3 hours per month.

Packaging Volunteers:

Help package sensitive equipment for shipment to ensure none of our supplies get damaged in transit. We ask for a commitment of at least 3 hours per month.

Office Volunteers:

Manage our front desk, greet guests, answer phones, and help with administrative projects. We ask for a commitment of at least 2 hours per week.

Group Volunteers

Young Professionals

The Young Professionals Board is a dynamic, active group of individuals between the ages of 21 and 35 engaged with the mission of Project C.U.R.E. The Young Professionals Board participates in retreats, seminars, international mission trips, and special events.

Donate Surplus Medical Supplies

To help provide the necessary medical equipment and supplies that doctors and nurses around the world need to save lives, we need surplus medical supplies donated from hospitals, manufacturers, medical facilities, and individuals. Learn more about how to donate supplies.
